National Dental PBRN Meeting Hosted by Westat
Westat hosted the first annual face-to-face meetings of the Executive, Steering, and Regional Coordination Committees of the National Dental Practice-Based Research Network on September 6th – 7th, 2012 at the Westat Conference Center in Rockville, MD. The network conducts research on topics important to both dental providers and patients, guiding dental practice improvement and speeding those advances to the patient care arena. The Network Meetings brought together 45 regional directors, coordinators, Executive Committee members, project officers from the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research, and Westat project staff. The purpose of the September 6th meeting was to receive reports from the network’s directors and committee chairs, as well as provide updates on other project areas, including program and performance planning, study ideas and development, collaborations with other organizations, and status updates on network documents/plans. On September 7th, the group was divided into an Executive Committee meeting, at which study concepts and ideas were discussed and voted upon, and a Regional Coordination Committee meeting, where lessons learned from previous network experience were shared among coordinators and a website demonstration was provided by Westat.
