Meet a National Dental PBRN researcher who praises our membership's positive impact on his dentistry and biomedical science career and studies.
Brittaney Hill Testimonial
My name is Dr. Brittaney Hill and I am a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Illinois Chicago. I recently joined the National Dental Practice-Based Research Network (PBRN) because I recognized the great impact that the network could have on the teaching and practice of pediatric dentistry. Within the academic realm of pediatric dentistry, my colleagues and I have the opportunity to conduct research that leads to the development of evidence-based guidelines and best practices. However, within an academic setting we may encounter a patient population that is not indicative of the entire pediatric population. The National Dental PBRN provides an avenue for research that allows for collaboration amongst those in academia and in private practice, creating a more diverse and robust patient pool , ultimately leading to high level research and even better outcomes for our patients. The field of pediatric dentistry is also always evolving, and it is important that we as a profession stay abreast to updates in technology, dental materials, behavior management techniques, and restorative dental procedures. Creating a network of practitioners with different experiences, expertise, and ideas will only enhance the quality of research that the pediatric profession produces.
