We are excited to announce the successful completion of baseline enrollment for the Free Samples for Health (FreSH) Study, having enrolled 1,200 patients across 56 practices and 83 practitioners! This milestone marks a step forward in our efforts to improve smoking cessation rates through innovative approaches in dental settings.
Celebrating a Milestone: Successful Completion of Baseline Enrollment for the Implant Registry Study
We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of baseline enrollment for the Dental Implant Restoration Registry (DIRR) Study, achieving our goal of enrolling over 2,000 implants nationwide! This significant milestone reflects the hard work and dedication of our practitioners, node coordinators and the entire research team.
A Collaborative Achievement
Reaching this enrollment goal is a testament to the power of teamwork. The collective efforts of everyone involved have made this possible, and we should all take pride in this accomplishment. As we transition to the next phase, we look forward to engaging with participants for their one-year follow-up visits.
“Congratulations, team! You’ve really filled our enrollment goals to the brim! You all deserve a gold star—or should I say a gold crown—for hitting our enrollment goal! Now let’s keep the smiles coming and get them back for the one-year follow-up visits!” said Dr. Joana Cunha-Cruz, Principal Investigator of the study. Her enthusiasm reflects the enthusiasm of the whole research team in reaching this milestone.
Dr. Gregg Gilbert, the National Director of the Network, echoed this sentiment, stating, “2,000 is the result of a lot of great teamwork! We should feel an immense amount of pride about making this happen!” This achievement is not just a number; it represents countless hours of hard work and collaboration among our dedicated team members.
Leadership Transition
As we celebrate this achievement, we also acknowledge a key transition in leadership. Dr. Nico Geurs, who has been instrumental in guiding the DIRR study, has transitioned from his role as Principal Investigator to focus on his responsibilities as Dean of the UAB School of Dentistry. Dr. Geurs concluded with a great message: “Congratulations for making the DIRR a success. Your contributions and leadership have made it possible to reach our enrollment goal. You are making a difference in the study and future patient care.”
Taking the helm as the new Principal Investigator is Dr. Joana Cunha-Cruz, who brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to the study. Under her guidance, we are excited to continue our mission of advancing dental implant research and improving patient care.
Looking Ahead
This milestone marks not just the end of one phase but the beginning of a promising journey toward enhancing patient care through innovative research. As we prepare for follow-up visits, we are eager to gather more insights that will enhance our understanding of implant therapy and its long-term outcomes. The DIRR study is not just about data collection; it represents a unique opportunity for dental professionals to contribute to a nationwide effort that will shape future practices in implant restoration.
Thank you to everyone involved for your hard work and dedication. Together, we are making strides in dental implant research, and we are excited about the future of this landmark study. Let’s keep pushing forward and continue to make a difference in patient care!
